Types of Braces

Whether it is clear aligners or braces, we offer orthodontic treatments that fit in with your individual goals and needs. Our orthodontist at ABC Orthodontics can discuss which types of braces would be the right solution for your smile. Call 928-726-0990 to schedule a consultation with Dr. Jessica Thayer about our different orthodontic treatment options in Yuma, Arizona.

The three most common types of braces are:

  • Metal Braces: This is the most common type of braces. Metal braces are made of high-grade stainless steel, and thanks to advances in technology and materials, they are now smaller, more comfortable, and more attractive than ever before.
  • Ceramic (Clear) Braces: Ceramic braces are made of a translucent material that is virtually clear. This makes them popular among our patients, especially adults, who want to maintain a more natural-looking aesthetic during treatment. However, the drawback to ceramic braces is that they are more fragile, and the elastic ties may become discolored between visits to our office.
  • Clear Aligners — Invisalign®, ClearCorrect, and similar treatment options are transparent aligner systems that use custom-made plastic trays to move your teeth to their proper positions gradually. These aligners are designed through computer simulation to ensure optimal results and an effective alternative to traditional braces. Because clear aligner therapy is a nearly invisible way to straighten your teeth, it is a very popular treatment among adult and adolescent patients who want a more discreet treatment option.

During your initial visit with our team, we will help you determine which type of braces would best meet your personal needs and preferences. For more information and to schedule your consultation, call us today at 928-726-0990. ABC Orthodontics provides braces for all ages in Yuma, Arizona.

Among others, Invisalign and the Invisalign logo are trademarks of Align Technology, Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries.

Clear Braces

Clear braces are an excellent option for patients who may be self-conscious about their smiles during the straightening process. Clear braces make your teeth less conspicuous while aligning your teeth where they need to be.

Clear braces are a discreet, modern way to straighten your teeth. Clear braces work upon the same basic principles as traditional metal braces; they gently and gradually adjust the positions of your teeth to give you a straighter, more beautiful smile. We are pleased to offer clear braces to help you more aesthetically achieve the straight, healthy smile you deserve. Straightening your teeth has a noticeable impact on the appearance of your smile, but did you know that braces can also improve your oral health? Straighter teeth are generally at a lower risk for tooth decay, periodontal disease, and other dental problems.

Clear braces have several benefits. First, they are nearly invisible. These braces allow you to maintain your normal appearance while undergoing orthodontic treatment. Gone are the days of having a “mouthful of metal” to gain a straighter smile! Clear braces are a great option whether you are a teenager who is conscious of your image at school or an adult who would prefer to maintain your professional appearance at work. Our patients also often find clear braces more comfortable than metal braces. To discover the advantages of clear braces, we welcome you to contact our skilled orthodontist today!

Call 928-726-0990 if you have questions about our clear braces and schedule your consultation at ABC Orthodontics with our orthodontist, Dr. Jessica Thayer.

Spark™ Clear Aligners

Looking for an orthodontic treatment that is even less conspicuous than clear braces? Dr. Jessica Thayer uses Spark™ clear aligners to give patients the straighter smile they want in a few months to a year.

Clear aligners are a great option for patients who want to avoid bulky and unsightly metal braces. This orthodontic option is especially popular among teenagers and adults seeking virtually invisible treatments. When you visit our office for your initial consultation, our orthodontist will examine your mouth and discuss your smile goals to determine if clear aligners are the best treatment.

Clear aligners are made from smooth, computer-generated, thin plastic and are custom designed to fit your smile perfectly. Not only are they very discreet, but they are also very comfortable. Your aligners are removable, allowing you to easily eat all of your favorite foods and brush and floss. As your treatment progresses, you will switch to a new set of aligners every few weeks. Each new set of aligners will make small changes to the alignment of your teeth, gently guiding them into their proper positions to give you a straight, healthy, beautiful smile.

Your aligners are made from clear plastic and must be cleaned regularly. If you do not clean your aligners frequently, they may cause your teeth to appear yellow, gray, or stained.

Please call 928-726-0990 for more information about the benefits of clear aligners and to schedule your complimentary consultation.

Traditional Braces

Traditional braces are a great way to straighten your oral structure to achieve a better smile and ensure better health for your teeth and oral passageway.

Braces are an orthodontic treatment option that can help you achieve a straighter and healthier smile. One of the most common orthodontic treatments available, braces work to improve your smile by gradually, gently realigning your teeth. Braces consist of a system of metal brackets, wires, and bands. The brackets are attached to the front of your teeth and connected to each other through a metal wire and bands. As we adjust the wire, the braces guide your teeth to their ideal positions in your smile.

If you have ever wanted your smile to be straighter and more attractive, braces may be right for you. With braces, we are able to correct orthodontic issues such as:

  • Crowded teeth
  • Gapped teeth
  • Misaligned teeth
  • Problems with the bite, including crossbite, open bite, underbite, and overbite

During your treatment, you will visit our office regularly so we can make sure that your braces are adjusted as needed to continue progressing toward a straighter, healthier smile. Our skilled orthodontist and team will help you reach your oral health and appearance goals through personalized, high-quality care.
